North left the competition

After a tough battle with FaZe Clan, the Danish team stepped down to the lower bracket where it had to compete with MIBR. The first map was quickly scored by the Brazilians who lost only 5 rounds on Mirage. On the second map Inferno, which was picked by North, the Danes initially lost 5 rounds, after which won 7 rounds in a row. Having moved to the defense side, they finished the started and won the map with a score 16-13. On the decisive map Overpass, the chances of one or another team to win were equal, however, MIBR had a bit of luck and focus. As a result, they advanced to the final match of the lower bracket and North left the competition, having placed 9th-12th. They earned a money prize in the sum of $15,000 for their efforts

The performance of HellRaisers

The way the players of HellRaisers were playing against Team Liquid is still a story among many viewers of the championship. Yesterday, they showed an incredible game and they lacked only a bit to eliminate the best team from the tournament.

On the first map Vertigo, Liquid achieved victory, having lost 11 rounds to the opponents. On the second map Inferno, HellRaisers on the required 16 rounds with great efforts, having lost 14 rounds to the opponents. On the third and decisive Overpass, ANGE1 with his teammates were too close to the victory but when the game came to the result 13-9 in the favor of HellRaisers, the Americans quickly managed to turn the game in their favor and made a comeback, having finished the match with a score 2-1 in the favor of Team Liquid.

HellRaisers surprised the public a lot yesterday and showed that the team is in a nice gaming shape and we will see it at other LAN championships soon where HR will be playing on the same level with Tier-1 teams.

HR became the fourth team to be eliminated from the tournament, having held the 9th-12th place. The team earned a money prize in the sum of $15,000 for its efforts.

NRG beat Astralis

Now, it seems that NRG is in a great gaming shape and their preparation to the championship was solid. This might explain that NRG defeated the Danish team with a score 2-1. They prevailed on Train with a score 16-13, lost on Nuke with a score 16-8 and won on Dust 2 with a score 16-12. This game was interesting but it didn’t have the number of remarkable moments, which were in other matches of yesterday’s gaming day.

G2’s easiest victory over Heroic

The fastest match of the third gaming day was the match between G2 Esports and Heroic. It became clear on Vertigo that unlike their Danish opponents, the French prepared for matches on this map very well. Heroic almost didn’t make opposition and won only three rounds on the map, which was picked by Heroic, by the way. On Dust 2, which was taken by G2 Esports, the match was prolonged, however, G2 defeated the opponents with a score 16-11, as a result, having finished the match with a score 2-0. The game was so easy for G2 Esports that the representatives of the tag made two aces on Vertigo and Dust 2.

mousesports in a semi-final

The match between FaZe Clan and mousesports probably became one of the most unpredictable matches. Before facing mouze, FaZe Clan defeated a strong team in the face of North, which was famous for being able to exceed the viewers’ expectations. Despite this, the European roster was not able to show enough opposition to win at least one map against mousesports. On Train, the players from FaZe achieved victory in 12 rounds and 8 on Vertigo.

Team Liquid made it to the playoffs

The most interesting match for us was the match between Liquid and MIBR in the final of the lower bracket in Group B.

Both teams struggled pretty hard on Mirage because the map was over with a score 16-13. It’s worth to notice the fact that the Brazilians lost on Mirage, which they picked. After that, Team Liquid went to play with their opponents on the next map, which the Americans picked, Dust 2.

MIBR decided to choose an easier side to gain some kind of advantage and started the match on this battle as the attack side. Initially, the Americans felt not bad and were losing with a score 2-4 but as a result, they managed to balance their team’s power and win 7 rounds as the defense side, which is a nice result, and this number allowed them to relax and calm down a bit. Having changed the sides, Team Liquid lost to their Brazilian opponents only one round.

EliGe became the best player of the match who was choosing the right positions and made key kills in rounds, however, as it is said, it’s better once to see than a hundred times to hear.

Twistzz became the worst from the winner’s team. The player didn’t have a good game and he made only 2 kills during the first 15 rounds on Dust 2. Due to the support of his teammates, the team was winning one round after another stable, having brought us an interesting highlight with an incredible clutch as the attack side.

We will see the following matches today:
