The preview of DOTA Summit 11

Cet article est disponible dans les langues suivantes

The general information

The company Beyond The Summit will organize the tournament, it stands out among other organizers for its style of hosting tournaments. The county house Summit House will traditionally be a battlefield in Los-Angeles, the USA. The prize pool of DOTA Summit 11 will amount $300,000 and 660 Dota Pro Circuit points. Eight teams will take part in its distribution.

The analysis of participants

Group A

In our opinion, Invictus Gaming can be called the favorite in this group. The Chinese obviously have good chances to make it to the playoffs and the Chinese have a series of three victories at the moment. Their roster was completed at the end of September and it was clear that the players had enough time to create synergy.

Now, Ninjas in Pyjamas have a good roster, in theory, which includes Universe and ppd. These two esportsmen wrote their names in the Dota 2 history when achieved victory at The International 2015 in 2015. Viewers saw the all-known $6,000,000 Echo Slam performed by Saahil ‘Universe’ Arora and Peter ‘ppd’ Dager, in turn, was always considered to be one of the brainiest captains who play mind games during the draft stage. NiP can’t boast of outstanding achievements, which are received by the roster, for now, but this championship might begin their successful performance and there are few preconditions for this. NiP won the European qualifiers without losing a map - what a reason to believe in Ninjas in Pyjamas’ power at the event?

jfshfh178 were assembled not so long time ago and received an opportunity to take part in the championship because Virtus.pro was not able to solve their players’ visa issues. jfshfh178 held the 3rd place out of 4 in the CIS qualifiers. It was not difficult for them because Old but Gold was the fourth participant of the qualifying round, they announced disbandment of the team after the end of Parimatch League. Respectively, jfshfh178 was not able to feel a strong competition, so it will be a pretty fair decision to call them the outsiders of Group A.

With regard to paiN Gaming, these Brazilians might fight for getting to the playoffs. Invictus Gaming should create the biggest competition for them in the group stage. We can say that paiN are unlikely to place first in the group. They haven’t had a practice of playing professional matches, so, having arrived at the venue, paiN might lose and not fight its play at the tournament.

Group B

Everything is not that clear in Group B as it might seem at a first glance. On one hand, we can see Ad Finem who pretend on passing to the next stage of the tournament and, on another one, we have Chaos Esports Club who want to make their best not to disappoint the esports club, with which the players have recently signed contracts.

Ad Finem with this roster gladdened us with a nice performance at one of the Major championships, namely The Boston Major 2016. The team placed second there and earned half of a million dollars as a prize for the second place. Considering that the five Greeks assembled to play at the Minor and place second in the European qualifiers, we can expect everything from them, including advancement to the grand final. In our view, the team can be considered to be one of the favorites of the group for a reason but not the most obvious ones.

Chaos Esports Club are too motivated to perform well. These esportsmen have recently been known as the roster of Quincy Crew. Now, they have signed contracts with the famous esports club and DOTA Summit 11 is a LAN tournament, in which they make debut under the tag Chaos Esports Club. The fact that SumaiL has recently left the team and his place has been taken by SabeRLighT- who is on a trial period doesn’t benefit the team. It’s worth to add that the ex-player of Old but Gold, Ilya ‘Illidan’ Pivcaev joined the ranks of Chaos to get the players on the right path. Considering that being under his leadership, VGJ.Storm made it to The International 2018 and placed 7th-8th, the arrival of Illidan as a coach should have a positive impact on the players.

Geek Fam is another contender to advance to the playoffs. The reason is their roster, which is assembled by famous representatives of the Asian division. There are Raven who won WESG 2018 under the tag TNC Predator and earned $500,000 and Kuku who was part of the racist scandal and held the 9th-12th place at TI9 under the tag TNC Predator. Is this not enough and you need an experienced Korean player with an income of half of a million dollars who used to play for such famous organizations as Fnatic, MVP HOT6ix? He is here too - DuBu will be playing on the fifth position and be a captain. Generally, Geek Fam is a team, which will probably positively surprise us and make a good competition to other participants of the group.

And we can call HellRaisers to be the only outsider of Group B. ALOHADANCE has recently left the team who had simply refused from practices with his teammates, for a serious reason, obviously. The request to the Ukrainian esportsman CemaTheSlayer to help was a quick decision by the managers of the roster. He will be playing together with HellRaisers at the upcoming championship but we don’t believe in the successful performance by HR.
