5 Highly Anticipated Gaming Monitors of 2023

Gaming monitors have entered a new stage of evolution with the start of 2023. The OLED panels are finally becoming a common approach among top brands for designing new and upcoming monitors. Moreover, the companies are also trying to go beyond the 360Hz refresh rate mark, but that won’t be becoming mainstream before the OLED panels.

Constant technical innovations have changed the gaming landscape dramatically over the last few years. When it comes to immersion, there is no other form of entertainment that can surpass the video games of today. While you can still play casual games online, the competitive scene of FPS games is a whole other world. While specialty games like bingo online provide a low-pressure environment for gambling, FPS games spike up your adrenaline with a highly competitive gameplay.

Esports, in particular, has played a key role in monitor brands making every possible improvement, no matter how small, to their new models.

The incorporation of OLED technology in gaming monitors has made it possible to achieve incredibly fast response times, even more so than the usual 1–5 ms IPS panel attributes. To that end, we have compiled the following list of 5 highly anticipated gaming monitors of 2023.

ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM

Asus' ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM features a 27-inch 1440p OLED panel with 240 Hz refresh rate. The monitor has 0.03 ms (GTG) response time, which means users will see no noticeable ghosting or overshoot behind fast-moving objects. It boasts a peak brightness of 1000 nits and a color gamut that covers 99 percent of DCI-P3. Asus also advertised that it has a custom heatsink for superior thermal performance and voltage customization options to reduce OLED burn-in.

Until now, most OLED panels were only seen in big TVs and ultrawide screens. With this upcoming monitor, gamers are overly excited to finally see the technology being implemented in regular-sized monitors. The monitor is available for pre-order in a few selected regions. It is expected to be released in a couple of months with a price tag of around $1300.

Acer Predator X27U

Featuring a 240Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync Premium support, the Predator X27U comes with a QHD (2560 x 1440) OLED panel. The monitor’s 26.5-inch flat panel has a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, as advertised, but since it has an OLED display, you should not take that number at face value. It has a response time as low as 0.03 ms and comes with dual 5-watt speakers. For the outer design, the monitor has very slim bezels on all sides, but in-person, the bezels will certainly not look like their press images. The monitor is priced at $1,099 and will be released sometime during the second quarter.

With a response time of 0.03 ms (GtG) and 1440p resolution, the monitor is Nvidia G-SYNC compatible and also has FreeSync certification.
