All Deadlock Heroes – June 2025

Deadlock is the next game from Valve, which has been in development for quite some time, according to various leaks and rumors. Previously, Deadlock was known by different names, such as Neon Prime or Citadel, during its early development stages. However, it now has more defined characteristics.
Deadlock is a MOBA hero-shooter in third-person view, described as a "blend" of Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, and Overwatch. There are still many debates online about what is key to Deadlock: MOBA elements (farming, items, map objectives) or the Deadlock Heroes, which are central to any hero-shooter like Overwatch. Both components are equally important in Deadlock. However, in this article, we will focus on Deadlock Heroes and share everything you need to know.
All Deadlock Heroes List – June 2025
There is no exact date for the start of the early closed testing of Deadlock, but information circulating online suggests May 2024, which seems quite plausible. Starting in May 2024, a limited number of players received invites, and later on, more players were able to try out the game.
At the time of early alpha testing, Deadlockfeatures 21 heroes. Here's the list:
- Abrams
- Bebop
- Dynamo
- Grey Talon
- Haze
- Infernus
- Ivy
- Kelvin
- Lady Geist
- Lash
- Mcginnis
- Mo & Krill
- Paradox
- Seven
- Shiv
- Vindicta
- Viscous
- Warden
- Wraith
- Yamato
Each hero is unique, which is no surprise. All Deadlock heroes have 4 abilities, including 3 basic abilities and an ultimate, which influence gameplay and strategies.
Deadlock Heroes Classes

A standard mechanic for hero-shooters like Overwatch 2 or even Team Fortress 2 is character classes. And while Deadlock is a representative of the hero-shooter genre, the MOBA component remains dominant, meaning there is no strict separation of characters into classes in Deadlock.
However, heroes still have traits that allow them to fulfill different roles in the game. We can distinguish several conditional classes of characters in Deadlock:
- Tank/Bruiser
- ADC
- Support
- Roamer
Using this conditional classification, we can assign each character to the corresponding class. Note that some heroes fit into multiple classes, which is common for MOBA games.
Hero Class | Hero |
---|---|
Tank/Bruiser | Abrams, Kelvin, Mo & Krill, Yamato, Warden, Viscous |
ADC | Grey Talon, Haze, Infernus, Lady Geist, Ivy, Seven, Shiv, Vindicta, Warden, Wraith, Paradox |
Support | Dynamo, Ivy, Kelvin, Pocket, Viscous, Mcginnis, Ivy |
Roamer | Bebop, Lash, Pocket, Vindicta, Ivy, Haze |
Again, these are conditional classes, and the game, at least in the alpha test phase, does not officially separate characters by function.
Best Deadlock Heroes for New Players

As with any MOBA game, Deadlock has a list of characters suitable for beginners. This list was compiled by the developers themselves, so it can be trusted. It looks as follows:
- Abrams
- Bebop
- Dynamo
- Grey Talon
- Haze
- Infernus
- Kelvin
- Mcginnis
- Seven
- Vindicta
- Wraith
Again, the list is quite conditional, and personally, I wouldn't call heroes like Vindicta, Grey Talon, or Haze noob-friendly. However, when it comes to Seven or Wraith, it's hard to disagree. By the way, we have our own Deadlock Heroes Tier-List, where we ranked the heroes based on our experience after dozens of hours in Deadlock.
So, now you know more about Deadlock Heroes, and I hope it will be easier for you to get acquainted with Valve's new game if you haven't already. To make the process even smoother, I recommend reading the Deadlock Shop Guide and also getting familiar with Deadlock Active Items in separate articles.
