Dota 2 Ranks, MMR, Distribution & How To Increase Dota 2 Rank

Dota 2 has long been a cult gaming discipline in the eSports arena. Millions of people around the world play the MOBA game from Valve on a daily basis, competing in a variety of game modes and custom maps. The most experienced and skilled players make it to the professional scene and fight for record prizes in different corners of the planet. Such esports athletes are distinguished precisely thanks to the rating mode of the game, Dota 2 ranks and MMR points. We recently talked about why it's time for Dota 2 to abandon Round Robin.
In this article, you will learn about Dota 2, the MMR system in Dota 2, Dota 2 ranks and the number of MMR points needed to achieve each of the ranks.
What is the Dota 2 MMR System?
In each esports discipline, it is important to measure the skill level of each player in order to determine the most skilled esports athletes and the correct balance of in-game matches. In Dota 2, the MMR system is responsible for this. It displays the progress of each player, as well as their skill and usefulness in the game. Accordingly, the better a person plays, the higher their MMR level. This allows for a fair selection of opponents, maintaining interest in the game for everyone.
Initially, a newbie in Dota 2 is not available for ranked matches, but upon reaching 100 hours played in All Pick and Turbo, the player gains access to the ranked mode. First, you need to play calibration matches. These are ten matches that determine what initial MMR the game system will assign to you. It is affected by both the outcome of these matches and your in-game effectiveness during the game.
In the past, a player earned and lost a fixed number of MMR points for a win or loss, but now the system works a little differently. The number of MMR points depends on which opponents you were able to defeat. In a match against higher-ranked players, you will earn more points than for victories over less experienced opponents. The current system with Dota 2 ranks was introduced in 2017.

There are eight Dota 2 ranks in the game, each of which reflects the user's level of play and has fixed MMR points, except for Immortal. The Immortal rank is awarded to the most experienced players who have managed to score more than 5420 MMR points.

About Dota 2
Dota 2, developed and published by Valve Corporation in 2013, is a popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game. It is a sequel to Defense of the Ancients (DotA), a community-created mod for Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion pack, The Frozen Throne.
The essence of the game is a battle between two teams, Radiant and Dire. The goal of the game is to destroy the opponent's main structure, Ancient. To do this, the entire map is divided into three lines, namely top, middle and bottom. Players will control one of 125 heroes, each of which has its own unique abilities and talents. The most exciting events usually take place in Dota 2 tournaments.
