New technologies to protect players' personal data

Personal data security is an important aspect of doing business. Personal data legislation imposes certain rules of conduct on entities, among others, that collect and process personal data, including online casinos such as mr bet .

RODO - the applicable legal act

The main legal act that comprehensively regulates the subject of personal data and the protection of all such data within the EU is the Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, hereafter referred to as RODO

The Act has been in force in Poland since May 2018 and covers all collection, gathering, processing of personal data not only in real life, but especially in the virtual one, i.e. online. It must be complied with by all entities that collect basic and additional data for various purposes, such as for example:

• PESEL numbers,
• first and last name,
• place of residence,
• telephone number,
• bank account numbers,
• e-mail addresses,
• medical histories,
• results of diagnostic tests, etc.

Naturally, this data must be protected from being leaked onto the network or stolen by hackers. Many institutions therefore use special security measures, such as the SSL encryption protocol.

SSL - a special encryption protocol

In these days of accelerating development and technological and digital progress, we are more often than not forced to be careful with our online security. This is why we find special security for gaming and gambling websites, which are secured with a special encryption code called SSL [Secure Sockets Layer].
