The Most Useful Deadlock Console Commands

Deadlock hasn't even received a release date or an official announcement yet, and you can already play it on Steam. Of course, if you're lucky enough to get an invitation to closed testing from your friends or acquaintances. Valve is actively working on a new project and, traditionally for all its games, has added the ability to use console commands. We'll talk about this today. Previously, we wrote about Deadlock Meta Guide, Best Deadlock Item Builds and All Deadlock Heroes.

In this article, you will learn about what the console is in Deadlock, how to activate it, as well as the most useful console commands that currently exist in the game.

What is Console in Deadlock and How to Activate It

The console in Deadlock is an in-game tool that allows you to enter text and numeric console commands. These commands can have a variety of effects, some of which can be used in regular matches, while others are only available for the lobby.

There are several ways to activate the console in Deadlock. The easiest option is to go to Settings, where the Options tab is located. Then you need to click on the Enable Console button, which will make it possible to activate the console commands in the game.

You can also activate the console through your Steam library. First, you need to right-click on Deadlock in your games list and go to Properties. The next step is to enter “-dev” or “-console” under the Launch Options section in the General tab. After launching the game, your console should already be active.

Regardless of the activation method you choose, you can call the console by pressing the “F7” key. Once you open the game console, you can proceed to using console commands for Deadlock.

All console commands in the new game from Valve can be divided into two categories. The first one contains commands that require enabling cheats through the console. And the second category of console commands can be used without first enabling sv_cheats.

The list of console commands that require entering sv_cheats true is presented below:

  • selecthero — select your preferred hero. You can even test out unreleased heroes after checking the dump_hero_names command
  • citadel_allow_purchasing_anywhere — allows the purchase of items anywhere on the map
  • dump_hero_names — shows a list of all the Heroes in the game including unreleased heroes
  • getpos — get your current coordinates
  • setpos — move to the mentioned coordinates
  • explode — die immediately
  • hurtme — deal 10 damage to self
  • kill — die immediately
  • trooper_kill_all — kill all troopers

The list of console commands that do not require the use of sv_cheats is presented below:

  • private_lobby_create — create a private custom lobby
  • citadel_region_override — you can change your server region in Deadlock. Use (-1) for automatic, (0) for NA, (1) for EU, (2) for Asia, (3) for SA, and (5) for Oceania

  • citadel_crosshair_pip_gap — this command lets you adjust the gap in the Deadlock crosshair. You can even use negative values which is impossible to do manually

Overall, Deadlock boasts a fairly large range of console commands that will allow you to conveniently practice in the lobby, customize your sight, or quickly bind the necessary command to the desired key. In the future, Valve will expand the list of console commands for their unannounced game.
