What Happened in Arcane Season 2: Episode 3 “Finally Got The Name Right” – Episode 3 Overview

On November 9, Netflix premiered the second season of Arcane from Riot Games and Fortiche Studio. This season will serve as the climax and conclusion of the story of sisters Vi and Jinx, along with the conflict between the prosperous, tech-savvy Piltover and the decaying Zaun.

The new season aims to raise the already high standards for game adaptations and expand our knowledge of Runeterra and the League of Legends universe. To achieve this, Fortiche Studio and Riot have planned a total of 9 episodes, released in a staggered schedule over 3 weeks, with 3 episodes airing every 7 days.

What Happened in Arcane Season 2: Episode 3 “Finally Got The Name Right” – Episode 3 Overview

The third episode of Arcane S2 opens with a stylish display of Caitlyn’s squad’s power, featuring the toxic “Gray Cloud” substance, giving her and her soldiers—Vi included—an advantage in their raids on the underground city.

In the opening scene, we learn that Jinx is planning a massive attack requiring the main pipeline. Meanwhile, we see Ambessa Medarda (recently introduced as a new LoL champion) take down a witch who has uncovered the War Matriarch’s plans regarding Piltover. Meanwhile, in Zaun’s depths, Caitlyn makes a promise to Vi, and the group continues their search for Jinx.

In Piltover, Mel learns that her mother, Ambessa Medarda, plans to seize power in the city with the help of the noble Salo, while the search for Jinx goes on.

Jayce, Heimerdinger, and Viktor tackle the issue of using Hextech and unravel the mystery of the “Wild Runes.” All clues point to the Hextech Gate located deep underground, where the team heads.

Vi and Caitlyn find Jinx, while Jayce, Ekko, and Heimerdinger encounter an anomaly near the Hextech Gate. A fight breaks out between Vi and Caitlyn against Jinx and Sevicka, while Jayce’s team is affected by the anomaly. In the background, Woodkid’s new track plays.

Vi defeats Jinx, but a girl Jinx saved in the first episode, “Heavy is the Crown,” shields Jinx with her body. Caitlyn loses her temper and starts shooting toward Jinx, while Sevicka releases Jinx’s prepared gas into Zaun’s ventilation system, causing a series of colorful explosions in Piltover.

Following these events, Vi and Caitlyn have a falling out, and Caitlyn leaves, striking Vi. The aftermath of Jinx’s bold move is assessed on the surface.

Meanwhile, Mel Medarda is captured by the “Black Rose,” and Ambessa Medarda enacts her plan to seize power by implementing martial law, with Caitlyn set up as a puppet ruler. We also learn that Ambessa was behind the Chem-Baroness’s attack on Piltover in the first episode of Arcane Season 2, “Heavy is the Crown.”

Episode 3, “Finally Got The Name Right,” concludes in Singed’s lab, where the scientist continues experiments on Wander’s body.

What’s Next in Arcane Season 2?

The third episode of Arcane’s second season reveals the main twist of the season’s first part and exposes Ambessa Medarda’s secret schemes. Intrigues abound: what are the “Wild Runes,” and how will they impact the world? What role will Wander play, what’s next for Viktor, and, most importantly, how will Vi and Jinx’s story conclude?
