Group stage

On April 29, DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 began.From the moment of the start, 10 participants have already been eliminated in the tournament and the top six have remained. Team Fiend, FaZe Clan, Extra Salt and paiN Gaming were the first to leave the championship, earning $ 4,000 consolation prizes. After them, Team Spirit, mousesports, BIG and Complexity Gaming came forward, earning $ 5,000 per team.

Virtus.pro and Team Vitality were close enough to reaching the playoffs, but in the last group stage fights they were defeated and took 7th-8th place in the standings. Their work was estimated by the organizers at $ 6,000.

The best result in the group stage was shown by Gambit Esports and Heroic. This allowed the teams to skip the quarterfinals and start preparing for the semifinal match.

Play-off

In the first quarterfinal match, G2 Esports and Astralis will face off against each other. G2 looks obviously like an outsider in this fight. Astralis did not become much weaker with the departure of device, although viewers expected the opposite result from them. Additional confidence in the victory of the Danes is given by the fact that they are in the 3rd place in the world ranking, and their opponents G2 are in the 8th position. The winner of this meeting will face off against Gambit Esports. The Russian team, by the way, is the main favorite to win. According to Gambit, they are not the only strongest team in the world. Players from Heroic deserve the same status.

In the second quarter-final, FURIA Esports will fight with NAVI for reaching the semifinals. Natus Vincere will be the favorite, as the esports club has an extensive fan base all over the world and one of the best players in the world s1mple plays for NAVI. FURIA does not tear such stars out of the sky, however, it will not turn out to call them an obvious outsider. The fan base of the Brazilian club is also very large, and therefore it is possible that the battle between FURIA and NAVI may become the most watched duel in the entire DreamHack Masters Spring 2021. FURIA Esports are in 7th place in the list of the best CS: GO rosters according to HLTV, and NAVI, in turn, recently moved up to the 4th line, displacing Virtus.pro to the 5th position. An additional motivation for NAVI, and specifically for s1mple, is the fact that if Alexander shows an excellent game, he will break the device record for the number of frags he made in the DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 championship series. To become the new top-1 s1mple, you need to score at least 69 kills, which is quite realistic to do in a couple of matches.

Who is our favorite?
