Snappi: «We don't have communication problems»

My congratulations on this pretty tough victory over HellRaisers, especially considering that difficult second map.

We always struggle a lot against HR. I think actually it’s the most underrated team in the scene. I had done a prediction before the event. I had said that our effort to beat HellRaisers would have got out, obviously, that had been before I knew that they wouldn't have ISSAA. But we always struggle against them. They played good in Pro League. I think it's a super underrated team with a lot of great players. I’m happy with a 2:0 victory. On the second map, there was a great struggle in the end.

You and HellRaisers were screaming a lot on the second map. Is it normal for your matchup?

I only screamed once, but it was really because, I guess, some players played speaking loudly. So if you scream, the other team might hear you. This can tilt them a little bit, so it's just something mental. But we like the HellRaisers’ guys, so there is nothing bad in this.

When woxic screamed there times during the second map, did you have some problems with it?

My team didn't have any problems at all. I think this is a part of the game and I respect woxic a lot. He is a very talented player, so there are no hurt feelings from here.

What about your first match at the tournament? On the first map, you were destroyed by Cloud9. What happened?

We tried to gamble. Because we thought that we read C9, but we had never played on de_overpass with RUBINO. I think we have only played two practices on each map with him. Everything is super new and we need to get him into roles. So he had a really tough game, where he was put in a lot of bad situations. And it comes down to us not having any practices because I think he is a really talented player with a really good aim. In general, on the first map, we all were thinking about things instead of just playing our game, which is what we can do right now since we don't have that much time. On de_inferno, I actually think we should win the match, but I guess we respected them way too much and started stacking towards B, which we should not do. We just had to play 3 A 2 B. But we respected them too much and that's why we ended up with throwing the game.

Why did you make a change to your roster?

We thought we needed that little extra bit and RUBINO could give us that. So he is a super underrated player and I think he is what the team needs. We needed a guy who is good at communicating. He has a much better aim than what people think. And he kinda feels this. He is a really good player and a good support if it can be said so. I am happy with the decision.

Do you have communication issues? Not all of your players are from Denmark.

No, we don’t, because both MODDII and RUBINO speak Danish. Also, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish is pretty easy to understand if you just use a couple of months to get used to it. Because, for example, when you write in Norwegian it’s 95% the same as Danish. So if you get used to it, it’s really easy.

And what can you say about peacemaker, your new coach?

He does a lot of difficult work. He does a lot of counters. Sometimes it’s difficult to communicate because we speak Danish and he speaks English. But we are making it work and we are always trying to adjust, so the teamwork between him and us is getting better. He can give his input at the right time when we need it.

Your last tournament was cs_summi 2. Why did you have a pretty bad performance there?

I don’t think it was a bad performance. We played with Patrick (es3tag) and we knew that it was his last event. There we beat NiP and North, so it was not bad, to be honest. The expectation was to reach the top 4, so that was fine. The reason why we changed the player was that we wanted to go further. We don’t want to be satisfied with a top 4 anymore. We needed to do something in order to get to the next level. And that’s why RUBINO is a part of the team now.

What are your goals for this tournament?

This is basically a practice tournament. Because as I had said before, we haven’t had any practice with RUBINO. So every time when we finish playing official matches here, we go to the hotel and play four or five practices in order to get more comfortable. This is about getting to know each other. We want to have some work done with RUBINO to get him ready for ESL One Katowice. And obviously, we hope that we will become more stable with tactics that we have and get RUBINO into everything.

So StarLadder is a practice for your team and you will play for some goals at ESL One Katowice.

Yes, we need to experience more situations in practices because when we do something RUBINO has never been in this situation, he has never been a part of this tactics, so he is got surprised a lot by unknown facts. We will not have a perfect practice for Katowice. We will take things as they come. Right now I think we are in a pretty good shape. We just got up to the number 12 in the world ranking. We have two events now to improve that. I think it’s gonna get better with time. I think we will have good results here or at Katowice. We hope for one of them at least.
