Topson wants to end the player's journey after The International 10?

Finnish portal Ilta Sanomat has interviewed renowned OG esportsman Topias 'Topson' Taavitsainen. In it, Topson told under what circumstances he would like to end his career as a player in Dota 2 and whether he will take a long break from e-sports after the end of the anniversary The International.

Topias did not hide the fact that he began to think about retirement last year. The main reason why he can end his career as a player in Dota 2 may be the desire to spend a lot of time with his family.

Topson said the following about his thoughts on ending his career:

We got to a major tournament in Los Angeles, but it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Throughout 2020, I wondered if there was any point in playing further. Then I thought about the possibility of living a normal life at least for a while. But in the end, we discussed it with the team, and I decided that if they want to continue playing, I will also play. Before, I had only a career, but now I also have a family. Now, of course, it has become more difficult to just play games, and I'm thinking of taking a break to make more time for my family.

Topias Taavitsainen said that OG wants to return to The International again just to have fun together. According to Topson, the players do not set any goals for themselves and just want to perform beautifully at the end and end their careers together:

We decided we would try [performing at The International] one more time. The team wants to have fun without any special expectations - just play the last matches of the season together. I think this The International may be my last, but I have not decided yet. In any case, after the tournament I will go on a long vacation and focus on my family. Then I'll think about whether I want to continue playing, or should I do something else. Most likely, I will return to streaming. I think even if I end my playing career, continue to participate in tournaments as an analyst or do something similar. I will probably stay in Dota 2 even if I no longer play.

Topias Taavitsainen's career began in 2017. In June 2018, he became part of the renewed roster and, along with the latter, became the first participant in The International to win two victories in this championship series. Anatan 'ana' Pham recently announced the end of his playing career in Dota 2. His place in the team was taken by Sumail 'SumaiL' Hassan, who became the youngest champion in the history of The International. This, by the way, happened in 2015. In early 2021, another Finnish esportsman who played in the ranks of OG, Jesse 'JerAx' Vainikka, announced his retirement from the Dota scene.
