Dota 2 Champions League: GeneRaL and company continue their winning streak

Another game day of the Dota 2 Champions League has come to an end. Within its framework, Nemiga and Spider Pigzs were the losers in fights with the Hellbear Smashers and Chicken Fighters, respectively.

The first duel between AS Monaco Gambit and Fantastic Five, of course, did not take place, since the first ones withdrew from participation in the championship. Nemiga Gaming, in turn, fought with the Hellbear Smashers and could not oppose the latter with almost nothing. The battle on the first map took place in 53 minutes. On the first map, Nemiga used heroes like Lina, Shadow Demon, Nyx Assassin, Gyrocopter and Death Prophet, while the Hellbear Smashers chose Dragon Knight, Hoodwink, Clockwerk, Brewmaster and Arc Warden for themselves. A bunch of the latter worked better than the Nemiga. In the second map, Nemiga decided to completely change their choice of characters and never repeated it. They picked themselves Invoker, Abbadon, Faceless Void, Enigma and Enchantress. Hellbear Smahers kept Hoodwink from the first map, and the rest of the heroes were replaced by Pangolier, Luna, Pudge and Kunkka. The refreshed bunch of Hellbear Smashers heroes turned out to be better than what Nemiga Gaming could offer and the latter lost 41 minutes after the start of the second map.

In the third match of the game day and the second match that took place, Chicken Fighters and Spider Pizgs fought against each other. On the first map, Chicken Fighters took the deep late path and took on Medusa alongside the likes of Shadow Demon, Treant Protector, Storm Spirit and Beastmaster. The Spider Pigzs answered their opponents with a choice of Hoodwink, Luna, Razor, Brewmaster and Underlord. The team of Nikola 'LeBronDota' Popovich could not realize such a combination and the team was defeated in 43 minutes. On the second map, the Chiken Fighters decided to lean more towards the fast pace and chose Ax, Keeper of the Light, Lina, Nyx Assassin and Dark Seer, while the Spider Pigzs kept Luna, but got Abbadon, Mirana, Dragon Knight and Void Spirit.... The "Battle Chicken" bet was played and the match ended 28 minutes after the start.

Thanks to these results, the Chicken Fighters are in 3rd place, and the Hellbear Smashers continue to occupy the first place, accumulating their winning asset in this championship. Now Nemiga and Spider Pigzs are ranked 5th and 7th in the group stage, respectively.

Based on the results of the group stage, the six best teams will be selected, which will continue their way in the double-elimination bracket of the upper division. This is where most of the total prize pool will be distributed. The teams that finish their participation in the group stage on the 7-10th line will go to the lower division bracket.

With the exception of six teams that will enter the top 6, Team Spirit and Tundra Esports, who received a direct invite to the playoffs from the organizers, will compete in the top division for the right to be called the best participant in this tournament and the main prize in the form of $ 20,000.

The Dota 2 Championship League started on July 19 and will end on August 8. The total prize pool of the championship is $ 50,000. There are 10 teams playing in it, 1 of which withdrew from the event (Gambit Esports). The winner of the event will claim the main cash prize of $ 20,000, while the vice-champion will receive $ 10,000. The bronze medalist will receive $ 6,000, and the 4th place team will earn $ 4,000.
