New details of The International 2017
Valve announced new details about the system of the qualifier stage for The International 2017.
The qualifier will take place in two stages. In the first stage, the best teams of four regions (China, SEA, Western Europe, and North America) will get direct invites to The International 7 LAN-final. The teams that will take 2-5 places will move to the second stage. In CIS region and Southern America, four best teams of each division will move to the second stage. There will be no direct invites for the teams from these regions. The participants of the first stage will play matches in Round Robin system.
The format of the second stage of qualifiers in different regions will also be different. In China and SEA, the best participants of the first stage will play against each other in GSL system. As for the representatives of Western Europe, North America, South America, and CIS region, these teams will place against each other in Double Elimination bracket. The matches will be played in bo3 format, and the grand final will be played in bo5 format.

In China and SEA, the best teams of the upper and lower bracket will get the invites to The International 7, and in other regions, the invites will be distributed among the teams that will take first places in each region.
