The group stage of Worlds 2023 continues. We're still watching the action on the main stage of the year from the group stage of the 2023 Worlds 2023 World Championship.

Today we're talking about the matches of the 0-2 teams. We've already discussed the Liquid vs GAM match, and now we move on to the main event of the day, the Dplus vs BDS duel.

A Korean club and a European team will play each other for the right to stay in the race for the Callers Cup. The loser goes home with nothing.

We start the Dplus vs BDS pairing with an analysis of the Korean club's form. In this match Dplus play as clear favourites with odds to win around 1.06.

Last season Dplus were still DAMWON, but the essence of the matter does not change. Back then, the top Korean team finished top 3 at LCK Spring 2022 and top 4 at LCK Summer 2022.

After rebranding, Dplus put together a new roster. There was an attempt to make some sort of "super" team, but that story doesn't work too well in LCK.

Reigning World Champion Deft didn't help Dplus much at the first tournament after the rebranding. At LCK Spring 2023, Dplus finished in the top 5, which is not good.

At LCK Summer 2023, Dplus made it to the play-offs in 4th place, 11-7. That's better than T1.

However, LCK Summer 2023 Dplus KIA did not stay in the play-offs for long. In the first round of LCK Summer 2023 Playoffs Dplus Ledge and T1 with the score 1-3, leaving the main stage of the prestigious championship early.

The team made it to Worlds 2023 thanks to a second place finish at the South Korean regional finals. To do so, they first outplayed DRX (3-0) and then HLE (3-1).

Dplus opened up Worlds 2023 with a match against G2 Esports. The titular Koreans were weaker than the best team in Europe and went into the set 0-1.

There, Dplus played their fellow countrymen from KT Rolster. And again Worlds 2022 champion Deft and their distinguished colleagues lost: now Dplus have 0-2.

For the top line the team picks KSante (4 matches, 50% wins), Renekton (3 games, 33% wins), Gnar (3 matches, 66% wins).

In the forest all the same, more or less standard: VI (7 games, 57% wins), Maokai (3 games, 66% wins), Poppy and Sejuani 2 matches and 0 wins each.

The championship among shooters is held by Lucian. Champion appeared 5 times, but won only 2 matches. Tried to Zeri, but failed: 0-3 in three appearances.

Among the supporting champions, Nami was a success. She was picked up 5 times, and her winrate was 40%. Yummi (3 games, 0% wins) and Ashe (3 games, 66% wins) were also picked.

BDS Form

We continue the match analysis with an analysis of the BDS form. The Europeans will play the number two side with win odds around 8.

At LEC Winter 2023 BDS reached the group stage, but quickly fell out of it, taking the last place in their quartet. Bottom line - top 7.

Next up was LEC Spring 2023 and BDS' moment of glory. Completely unexpectedly, they reached the grand final, but there they lost to MAD Lions, who were on a terrific spree in the spring.

Before LEC Finals 2023 BDS played at LEC Summer 2023. They were one map short of reaching the play-offs. They finished the championship on the 5th place.

Thanks to the near top places and top 2 at LEC Spring 2023 BDS managed to get to LEC Finals 2023, and also to the top grid, where they got to G2 Esports in the first round. The International didn't end up with anything interesting and G2 had no trouble closing out the match with a 3-1 score.

After the defeat from the main favourite of LEC Finals 2023 - G2 Esports - BDS played against SK Gaming. The German club was unable to give anything to the French and fell with a score of 0-3.

However, BDS' path to the LEC Finals 2023 ended with the game against SK. The team lost to Fnatic 2-3 in the next round of the lower bracket, thus failing to make it into the top 3 of the tournament for direct participation in the main tournament.

BDS have already started Worlds 2023 on a positive note. They ran over Golden Guardians at the Worlds Qualifying Series, thus snatching a slot in the same Play-In.

After a confidence-boosting win over GG at the Worlds Qualifying Series, BDS unexpectedly fell in their first match at Worlds 2023. They lost to No. 2 Vietnam, thus becoming the main losers of the World Championship so far.

They managed to partially rehabilitate themselves in the match against DFM. The Japanese club did not provide proper resistance and BDS closed the series with a very simple 2-0.

In the match for the exit here BDS played against CTBC. The Frenchmen outclassed their opponents, closing the series 2-0.

BDS battled PSG Talon to advance to the group stage. The French were a map away from elimination, but on the third map Adam and his Olaf gave his team a chance to clinch a comeback and BDS took it: a reverse sweep in the group stage match actually allowed BDS to qualify for the group stage.

In the group stage of Worlds 2023, BDS first ran into JD Gaming. Obviously, the first team of the world was not strong enough for the French and they lost without any problems. Next was a match against MAD Lions and again an ironclad defeat.

Dplus look like the major disappointment of the tournament so far. With such powerful performers in their arsenal, the Koreans do not show the game, although their opponents were clearly not the boys to beat. It can be seen that their conditioning is not optimal, but even so they should outplay BDS without much difficulty.
