Welcome to EGamersWorld.
Slowly but surely, we have reached the final match of the first round of League of Legends World Championship 2024. The final quarter-final will determine the fourth and final play-offs participant.
FlyQuest and Gen.G will play for a chance to qualify for the semi-finals of Wolrds 2024. The Gen.G - FlyQuest match will take place on the 20th of October at 15:00 CET.
We will see if FlyQuest has a chance to surprise Gen.G level team or if everything will end as expected, i.e. with an easy victory of Gen.G.
Let's go.
Gen.G uniforms
Let's open the analysis of Gen.G vs FlyQuest match with the analysis of Gen.G's form. In this match LCK title club plays as a favourite with odds to win at 1.2.
Gen.G won LCK Spring 2023 convincingly, leaving no chance for T1 in the grand final. A little less lucky at MSI 2023, where Bilibili Gaming sensationally kept the Korean champions out of the finals.
- Gen.G line-up: Kiin, Canyon, Chovy, Peyz, Lehends.
At LCK Summer 2023, Gen.G made it to the play-offs without any problems. During the group stage, the titular Koreans gave up only 2 series, eventually finishing in 2nd place in the group stage table with a score of 16-2.
In their first play-offs match for themselves, Gen.G crushed HLE. HLE 3-0 and now Gen.G are ready to advance to the league finals for the second consecutive time.
The Grand Final is a rematch of the playoffs. Last round Gen.G beat T1 3-2 in a very tough series and I think the final will be the same.
And in the grand finals, they did it too. And it was even easier than in the match to get here: Gen.G became the LCK Summer Split champion by beating T1 3-1.
Worlds 2023 Gen.G started off with a solid win over Gam Esports. It was fast and painful for Gam with 22 minutes and only 5 kills for the Vietnamese.
In a 2-0 basket match, Gen.G played against their counterparts, and by extension, bitter rivals T1. The South Korean derby, like the last 4, ended in favour of Gen.G, as Chovy and his Akali left T1 with nothing to lose.
Gen.G advanced to the Worlds 2023 play-offs with a score of 3-0. In their final group stage match, they played against G2 Esports and, expectedly easily, ran over the Europeans 2-0.
Being one of the favourites for Worlds 2023, Gen.G couldn't handle the burden of responsibility and lost in the first round of the play-offs, Ledgeiv BLG.
In the first match at LCK Spring 2024, Gen.G will be tested against T1. I'm sure the reigning LCK champions will be proud to pass it, as Gen.G are historically good at home against the Worlds 2023 champions. Following that, Gen.G will play Nongshim RedForce, where they should outplay their counterparts with unenviable ease.
After winning the LCK Spring 2024, Gen.G attended their first international tournament of the season - the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 - where they were crowned champions.
Gen.G attended the Esports World Cup 2024 as MSI 2024 champions, where they lost in their first match, finishing in the top 8. At LCK Summer 2024, the team knows no equal and guaranteed themselves an early exit to the play-offs by going there on a 12-0 score.
Gen.G too confidently advanced to the LCK Summer 2024 playoffs after finishing the regular season at 17-1. They immediately advanced to the second round of the playoffs, after which they chose DPlus KIA over T1 as their opponent. In the opening match, Gen.G took down their vis-a-vis in class: 3-0 and an easy passage to the next stage. However, Gen.G played the entire LCK Summer 2024 play-offs, but lost to Hanwha Life Esports 2-3 in the grand finals.
The Worlds 2024 Long Sogpeg team started off with a win over WBG in the first round of the Swiss Stage. Next came another win over LPL residents, this time Top Esports and a 2-0 hammering. LoL World Championship 2024 qualified for the LoL World Championship 2024 play-offs thanks to a solid 2-0 win over HLE in the basket with a similar score in the match.

FlyQuest Form
We continue the FlyQuest vs Gen.G match with FlyQuest's form analysis. In this match they are playing as a clear outsider with odds to win around 10.
FlyQuest have been on the professional scene since 2017. Back then, they were hanging around somewhere in the middle, ranking from top 7 to top 7.
The following years were also unsuccessful: in 2018 the peak was TOP-6 at LCS Summer 2018, then TOP-4 at LCS Spring already in 2019. The turning point was the 2020 season, when FlyQuest made it to the 2020 Worlds after twice finishing in the Top 2 at home. However, it wasn't too bad to take special heights there, though: TOP-12 for the FlyQuest ranked team can be considered a success.
In the season 2021 and 2022 the team played "standard" for themselves. The average was top-6.
At LCS Spring 2023, the team finished second in the group stage, losing to Cloud9. The team won the group stage with a score of 14-4.
- FlyQuest lineup: Bwipo, Inspired, Jensen, Massu, Busio.
The team lost to the leaders of the standings Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid and TSM. However, having played each of the teams twice, FlyQuest took one match each.
The team had no net defeats in the group stage. The team did not participate in any third-party events.
In the first play-offs match FlyQuest played against 100 Thieves. The opponent, who nominally could compete with FQ, was unable to take even a map: the match ended with a 3-0 defeat in favour of FlyQuest. After a successful Long Sogpeg, FlyQuest made it to the Top 3 before losing to Golden Guardians 2-3 in the finals match, thus being left out of Worlds 2023.
In 2024, FlyQuest made it to the LCS Top 2 and eventually made it to MSI 2024. Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2024 started off with a very surprising 2-1 win over PSG Talon. In the match to qualify for the Bracket Stage FlyQuest expectedly Ledge or T1 with a score of 0-2. And then there was a rematch of PSG Talon and FlyQuest left MSI 2024 on the 10th line.
At LCS Summer 2024 the team took the top 3 with the score 5-2. In the play-offs FlyQuest defeated NRG 3-1 and then very unexpectedly beat C9 3-1. By reaching the final of the top flight, they guaranteed themselves an appearance at Worlds 2024. The cherry on the cake was winning the grand final.
At Worlds 2024 they debuted with a class win over GAM Esports. In the second match, they lost to DPlus KIA. In the next series, they defeated PSG Talon. In the play-offs match in a 2-1 set, FlyQuest played against HLE, where unironically they should have closed 2-0, but lost 1-2. In the World Championship play-offs match, FlyQuest repeated their success from their LCS Summer days by outplaying Team Liquid.
The most popular FlyQuest champions
The top FlyQuest champions are KSante (9 matches, 66% wins), Sion (4 matches, 50% wins), Jax (2 games, 100% wins) and Renekton (2 matches, 100% wins).
The forest picks are Maokai (5 matches, 80% wins), Sejuani (4 games, 25% wins), Vee (4 matches, 100% wins), and Amumu (3 matches, 100% wins).
The centre line has the most variety. Silas-a (4 matches, 75% wins), Azir-a (2 games, 100% wins), Akali (2 games, 50% wins), Annie (2 matches, 100% wins), Ahri (2 games, 100% wins).

Predicted result of Gen.G vs FlyQuest at LoL Worlds Championship 2024
All I want to say about this match is a word of praise for FlyQuest. They took the Western League of Legends to the play-offs, becoming the only LEC + LCS representative in the top 8 Worlds. They showed a very inventive League, weren't afraid to experiment with picks and played well. However, as far as I'm concerned, making it to the top 8 is their maximum, and they couldn't take care of a Gen.G level team, even after a good match with HLE (LCK champions). Maximum is one map and that is very unlikely.
Bottom line: Gen.G won with a score of 3-0.
