Virtus.pro will skip Six Invitational 2021
The eSports club's management has announced that they are missing the upcoming Rainbow Six Championship. According to the announcement, player Alan 'Rask' Ali and analyst Andrey 'Andreezy' Baviyan passed the coronavirus test and received positive tests. The organization made a special note of the fact that they were in isolation at the bootcamp, and on May 4, all participants received previous results of the tests for coronavirus. When they arrived home, fresh tests gave a different result and right before Rask and Andreezy were about to leave for the championship, it was decided to cancel the trip due to the circumstances.
As for the tournament, the organizers will slightly change the format of the Six Invitational 2021. Now, from Group A, where Virtus.pro were supposed to be, nine teams out of 10 will advance to the playoffs, and seven out of eight from Group B. Wildcard Gaming also announced that they are withdrawing from the tournament due to coronavirus problems.
The Six Invitational 2021 kicks off on May 11th. The $ 3,000,000 Rainbow Six World Championship will be held in the French capital, Paris. On May 23, the winner will be determined, who will take with him the main prize of $ 1,000,000.
Virtus.pro and Wildcard Gaming, in turn, will receive consolation prizes of $ 30,000 for being able to qualify for this tournament.
