Schedule for LoL World Championship 2024 Swiss Stage Day 6 – Another Step to Playoffs

From October 3 to 7, the first stage of the Swiss Stage took place at the League of Legends World Championship 2024, which is the group stage. As a result of this stage, Gen.G (LCK) and LNG Esports (LPL) advanced to the LoL Worlds 2024 playoffs, but 6 spots in the main stage remain vacant.
As is common at such stages of the game, competition is very high. Swiss Stage matches return on October 10 at 14:00 CET. DPlus KIA vs. Top Esports (Oct 10, 14:00 CET)
The first match on the LoL Worlds Championship 2024 Day 6 schedule is between DPlus KIA (LCK) and Top Esports (LPL). The match will take place in the 2-1 bracket, where the winner will advance to the playoffs.
The classic Korea vs. China clash at Worlds shouldn’t be surprising this year. As it stands, the East has been dominating for years and will likely continue to do so.
Regarding the DPlus KIA vs. Top Esports matchup, it’s quite an interesting situation. Despite the LCK-LPL matchup, I can't say we’re expecting an even match.
DPlus KIA, despite their place in the 2-1 bracket, haven’t been too impressive with their gameplay. They were quite lucky with the draw, facing the best possible opponents for them in the first two rounds, namely Fnatic and FlyQuest. Not encountering any Chinese or Korean teams before the 2-0 stage is a huge stroke of luck. However, in the playoff qualifier match, DPlus KIA faced LNG Esports and lost without a clear strategy, 0-2.
As for Top Esports, the tournament has unfolded quite differently for them, yet they still find themselves in the 2-1 bracket. They got there after matches against T1, Gen.G, and Fnatic. Their first two matches were against the defending world champions and the strongest LCK regional team of recent years.
In conclusion, DPlus KIA is likely to face a very tough match and will probably fall to the 2-2 bracket, where their fate will be decided. However, whether this prediction comes true will be seen during the match between Top Esports and DPlus KIA.
Hanwha Life Esports vs. FlyQuest (Oct 10, 17:00 CET)
The second and final match on the LoL World Championship 2024 Swiss Stage Day 6 schedule is between FlyQuest (LCS) and Hanwha Life Esports (LCK). It’s a championship-level clash, as the champions of North America and South Korea face off. Unfortunately, the hype for the FlyQuest vs. HLE matchup ends there.
HLE are the LCK Summer 2024 champions, and such a title is not won easily. It’s the result of hard work, as you compete with the best, most decorated, and mechanically perfect teams like Gen.G, T1, and others. HLE has been working toward this title since 2018. They entered the 2-1 bracket after defeating PSG Talon and G2 Esports, but lost the LCK Summer 2024 Grand Final rematch against Gen.G. It’s also worth noting that HLE was fortunate with the draw: neither PSG Talon nor G2 Esports are difficult clubs for HLE.
Now, let’s talk about FlyQuest, the LCS Summer 2024 champions. As might be clear from the above, FlyQuest has very little chance of winning the match against HLE. However, this doesn’t take away from the solid performance of the Americans at this year’s LoL World Championship 2024. With a relatively easy bracket leading up to this match (GAM, DPlus KIA, and PSG Talon), FlyQuest dominated where they should have (as in the match against PSG Talon) and demonstrated remarkably resilient play in a match that wasn’t straightforward (against PSG Talon).
Could FlyQuest repeat last year’s NRG trick and make it to the Worlds 2024 playoffs? In theory, yes, but the challenge now is tougher than what NRG faced in 2023 when they had to play against G2 Esports for a spot in the playoffs. Now, they need to beat the LCK champions.
