In Group A, a trio of leaders stood out straight away, showing consistently decent play, namely Gaimin Gladiators, Shopify Rebellion and Evil Geniuses. Overall, the first group stage stands out with a large number of draws. The aforementioned teams finished with equal statistics both in terms of matches and cards played.

Team Aster were the main disappointment of the group. Much more was expected from the Chinese squad, with the main Aster squad picking up only one win, Ledge having played twice and drawn four times. As a result, BoBoKa and his teammates were relegated along with Execration and TSM. They lost both their matches and finished their appearance in the tournament, the same fate befell Execration.

The teams showing the weakest performance were ex-HellRaisers and Entity. These contenders displayed an extremely shaky performance with no wins in the bo2 series.

At the end of Group A, Gaimin Gladiators, Shopify Rebellion, Evil Geniuses and TSM continue in the race for greater prize money and a ticket to the Riyadh Masters 2023.

Group B was predictably dominated by Team Liquid, winners of the recent DPC WEU 2023 Tour 2: Division I, and Tundra Esports, the defending champions of The International 2022. Liquid are the only team in the first part of the group stage to have won more than half of the matches played. The 4-3-0 statistic makes Nisha and his Swedish friends not only the best performer in Group B, but the entire group stage. Tundra Esports performed decently, although they lost 3 matches.

The real battle was between the 3rd-5th place finishers. Beastcoast, the strongest team in South America, OG, that hasn't been very stable lately, and Team Spirit, that plays decently but clearly is not in the best shape, had to determine one team that will not advance to the second group stage. A series of tiebreakers identified Team Spirit as the weak link in this trio.

In addition to Team Spirit, Talon Esports will also be leaving DreamLeague Season 19. 23savage have not picked up a single win in 7 matches, although they have also drawn 5 of them. Miracle- failed to help Nigma Galaxy through the first group stage after ATF went inactive. And the weakest performance of Group B was shown by the nouns team.

Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, beastcoast and OG will advance to the second group stage.
