PSG.LGD became WePlay AniMajor 2021 champions!
The final fight was not the most intriguing one. The first PSG.LGD map was taken in 33 minutes. After that, Evil Geniuses did some work on the mistakes and played against the Chinese on the second map for a little longer, namely 47 minutes. They still failed to gain the upper hand in battle there. The third map was completed in 36 minutes.
PSG.LGD started their way to the playoffs in the upper bracket. There, on the way to the grand final, they beat Alliance 2-0, defeated Nigma, losing one map and beat T1 with a score of 2-1. Evil Geniuses started in the lower bracket. There they were one step away from leaving the championship, but did not give up and beat NoPing e-sports with a score of 2-1, after which TNC Predator with a similar result fell at the hands of EG. In the fight against Nigma, Evil Geniuses performed quite confidently and did not concede a single card to them, which cannot be said about the next fight against Vici Gaming. In the match for reaching the grand final, T1 showed a good game and even took one card from EG, but the "evil geniuses" were adamant and beat the Asians with a score of 2-1.
PSG.LGD received a reward of $ 200,000 for their work. The second largest prize of $ 100,000 went to Arthur 'Arteezy' Babaev and his teammates.
WePlay AniMajor 2021 took place from June 2 to 13. The total prize pool of the tournament was $ 500,000 and 2,700 Dota Pro Circuit rating points.
