Why is Midas Mode 2 worth your attention?

Jake ‘SirActionSlacks’ Kanner together with his tournament Midas Mode 2 has created kind of rush around the event. First of all, it happened due to an unusual format and the main idea of the championship. A traditional and serious approach to a design of a championship, a familiar line-up of participants, a large prize pool and absence of interesting features — you will not see all of this at Midas Mode 2. This amateur tournament, if it can be called so, has received that serious feedback in the hearts of Dota 2 fans that Valve agreed to postpone the first qualification to rating championships to allow some professional players to take part in the event by SirActionSLacks without issues. What is going on with this tournament that it is awaited by many Dota 2 community representatives?

The main idea of the championship is that you can buy and change almost all in-game objects: a tower, a mountain, an item in the shop and even heroes. Axe and Ogre Magi have already been sold out and changed. Now, we will follow a peculiar version of Ricardo Milos instead of the usual red and mighty Axe who has come to the world of defense of the ancients to dispel a tense situation. Shrek fans will not stay without a dose of euphoria because the main hero of the cartoon will replace Ogre Magi. However, he will be twin-head like the original in Dota 2.

Jake Kanner has even managed to sell creeps on lines. The VIP tickets owners will visit a gaming club to control a few creatures, which will be spawning on lanes. Under such circumstances, the game promises to become even more interesting and unexpected.

Different challenges, which will help teams to earn additional points to prevail at the championship, will probably emerge at the tournament. For example, there were such challenges at the first Midas Mode like “All in — buy Divine Rapier in 30 minutes of the game” or “Just Pick Techies — pick Techies”. There were even more funny achievements in the form of “Targeted Toxicity — a captain chooses an opponent at the beginning of the game who you will have to insult after his every death” or “Secret Santa — lay Observer Ward, Sentry Ward, and Teleport Scroll at the roshpit in 10 minutes and write «Happy Frostivus!» to notify the enemy team about the gift”. It is unknown at the moment whether it is realized in Midas Mode 2 or not but if Jake Kanner decides so, it will not be odd for sure.

The line-up of participants has become not the last reason why the tournament is very interesting for the community. If you have recently started following esports and it has always been interesting to watch the play of the roster of Natus Vincere, which had won the first The International, Midas Mode 2 will give you such an opportunity. Do you want to look at the legendary Swedish roster of The Alliance, which changed a perspective on Dota and in 2013 and won The International 3? You will see it at Midas Mode 2! And what about the championship roster of Evil Geniuses at TI5 or Team Liquid at TI7? Unfortunately, they will not be there, however, the equally strong and creative OG, the reigning two-time world champions, will take part in the tournament. Previously, ana and Topson have announced about a temporary break in a Dota 2 career but such a tournament didn’t leave them indifferent, due to which OG will come as the full roster.

The final line-up of participants looks in the following way:
